Full professor at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, sociolinguist, head of multiple research projects, including one in the field of Poland’s language diversity (National Science Centre, SONATA BIS). Her scholarly interests include methods of protecting and revitalising languages and minority cultures, language activism, education, multilingualism and multiculturality. Engages in field studies, i.a. in Cassubia and Lusatia. Author of six monographic works (i.a. „Nikt za nas tego nie zrobi”. Praktyki językowe i kulturowe młodych aktywistów języków mniejszościowych Europy, (“Nobody Will Do It for Us”. Language and Cultural Practices of Young Activists of Europe’s Minority Languages, 2017); Upper Sorbian Language Policy in Education. Bringing the Language Back, or Bringing It Forward?, 2023), and several dozen scientific papers.
