Co-chairman of the Joint Commission of the Government and National and Ethnic Minorities as a representative of the Ukrainian minority. Director of the Podlasie Scientific Institute. His scholarly interests include history of the Chełm and Podlasie regions from the 19th century until the present day, 20th– and 21st-century history of the Orthodox Church, the situation of Ukrainians in the Second Polish Republic, and ethnic minorities in Poland and other European countries. Author of several dozen scientific papers. Edited and co-authored several collective monographic works.
